Snapchat filters can be a lot of fun. Our family gets a kick out of them; well, some of us do, and Snapchat is a fun way to entertain little ones.
Chuck's first filtered Snapchat. It may also have been his last. He's not a big fan of the app. |
With the filters, I can look glamorous, funny, or outrageous. Taking Snaps with a friend multiplies the fun.
The baby animal filters are pretty cute. Usually.
But all of the fun came to a screeching halt this morning.
Apparently, Snapchat's app interpreted my neck wrinkles as a separate entity. I had never considered doing a "face swap" filter with other parts of my body. My neck has never been a friend of mine; it may become my worst enemy.
At first, I was offended. Then it made me laugh. I'm afraid I may end up going through all of the stages of grief before this day is over.
Oh Denise, that is priceless! Laughter really is the best medicine, and technology should never be taken too seriously. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas from Chuck and me!
DeleteWell, it made me laugh. Hope it treats you better next time.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it made you laugh, Stella. Merry Christmas!
DeleteThanks for the smiles, Denise. Oh, I feel your pain. Turtlenecks Forever! (or at least when dealing with Snapchat's not-so-funny filter). Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteTurtlenecks in the summer should be real comfy. ;-) Thank you for reading!
DeleteOh dear.I can understand why this was a sad day--it's the equivalent of being told you have elephant knees (don't ask me how I know). I'm not a fan of of this app, though I could be when it's used solely to entertain as it is here. Unfortunately, I've seen young girls use it in ways they think amp up their appeal, and others use it in ways that diminish their worth.
ReplyDeleteElephant knees...baby reindeer neck...we're a zoo. My kids, sister, and I have great fun with the app. I hope my silliness doesn't seem demeaning.
DeleteOh, that is funny! I hate to see what the filters would do with my wrinkles. Gotta keep laughing, right? My daughter uses the filters on my new grand-baby. There is something about that which creeps me out. Can't put my finger on it ... I constantly tell her that she is violating the terms of use, by applying filters to non-consensual individuals. She has stopped sharing with me :-(
ReplyDeleteSorry you're not seeing pics of your grand baby. Maybe that will change soon.
DeleteYes, a sense of humor can take us far in life. Merry Christmas, Lisa!
I've never heard of this app, but now I must use it, although it might think my neck is a crowd!I love the playfulness of this post. Just what I needed today!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping in and sharing a smile. Your comment made me chuckle. Have a great day, Carolyn!
DeleteI don't do Snapchat, or any photo app. But this could be fun. I laughed at this, but not because of your chin animals. :)
ReplyDeleteMy chin animals. Lol. Oh, Denise, I think you might have some fun. I was hesitant, and it does have some quirky parts of it, but overall, it just makes me laugh.
DeleteLove your positivity! The post made me smile this evening!!
ReplyDeleteIf it made you smile, that makes me happy!
DeleteHilarious. Lord knows what that app would think my neck is - definitely not a cute deer. That pic cracks me up.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you! Have a wonderful day.
DeleteI'll be perfectly honest: I DESPISE Snapchat filters. They have always creeped me out. My students constantly use them and they ALWAYS look better WITHOUT them. I get their usefulness for diversion and distraction and time-burning, but...and I'm not saying I wouldn't use them as a babysitting technique in lieu of tv, but... <>
ReplyDeleteThat bracket thingie was a [shudder]
DeleteI never use the "prettifying" filters. I just use the voice changer to send reminders to my kids. I'm not sure they fully appreciate my sense of humor. I like your shudder. ;-)
