B Is for Being

B is for BEING. You can be however you want to be. Even if you don't get to DO whatever you want all day long, you can choose the way you begin your day, simply by being.

On any given day, you have so much you want and need to get done. Try starting your day just BEING. You can get to that to-do list, but first, just BE for a moment.

Be still.

Be calm.

Be attentive.

Be relaxed.

Be content.

Be grateful.

Be quiet.

Be happy.

Be meditative.

Be prayerful.

Be loving.

Be peaceful.

Be you.

Dwell in this moment, and simply be here for awhile. That's all there is to it. Take a deep breath as you inhale. Now exhale slowly. There you are. You are becoming a being who is good at just being. Well done!

  2. I've been bullet journaling for the past month or so and have found it has freed up some of my time as I can write things down that I've done or want to do - everything from grocery lists to recipes and projects I've found on the internet. Its all in one notebook. I don't have to spend time trying to remember where I found something. It seems to help me enjoy the moment a lot more often. Thanks for stopping by Girl Who Reads yesterday.

    1. Donna, I've only become aware of bullet journaling in the last month. I'm fascinated by the concept. I'm glad your journal is helping you enjoy each moment even more. Think how that is improving the quality of your life. Wonderful! Thank YOU for visiting here at Randomocity!

  6. Well said—and sometimes still the hardest thing to do. Funny how simplicity is so hard for so many of us, isn't it?

  7. This is so true. Just being in the moment can be so hard for me. My mind is always thinking about the 100 things I need to get done but peace truly is 'being' in the moment!

    1. So much of my reading confirms what you have said. "Peace truly is 'being' in the moment." It's hard to remember when we're feeling anxious or sad, but by staying in the present, we can release the sadness for the past, and the anxiety about the future.

      Thank you for visiting, Ashley.

  8. I love the tree and fog scene. It helps a person focus on just being in the moment, and contemplating this view.

    1. Thank you, Julia. My husband and I were able to be in the moment twice since photographing that beautiful foggy morning...when we were out in the thick of it, and later, while viewing the photographs from that day. It brings to mind the peaceful feelings we first experienced.

  10. Denise, I would have LOVED to have heard a recording of you reading this. I think you're right, though--we spend too much time trying and doing, and almost never enough time just being. Thanks for the good reminder! Gorgeous moody pic to accompany it.

    1. Chuck told me this weekend he loves my voice. We talked about how dreadful it is to hear our own voices through recordings. I have never considered recording myself, except for someone's voice mail. Thank you for your constant encouragement.
