I Love You More

Have you ever played "I Love You More?" My kids and I used to play that when they were little.

"Mom, guess what."

"What?"

"I love you."

"Well, I love you MORE...than puppies."

"I love you MORE than...pizza!"

"Well, I love you MORE than...ICE CREAM." (That is an awful lot of love for some of us; trust me.)

Chuck and I play our own version of "I love you more," but we don't add something that we love less than each other. We just say "I love you more."

It doesn't mean "I love you more than something else I love," or "I love you more than you love me." It simply means I love you more than I did before. I love you more than when I met you. I love you more than I did yesterday.

Little texts that come throughout the day remind me of his love for me. It only takes a minute, but it always brings a smile.

I really do feel pretty lucky. It may have taken us over fifty years to find each other, but now that we have, it's pretty great to love and be loved even more than we did "back then."

Chuck, I love you more than... EVER.
